Over 3,000 Residents of Europe Has Joined ISIS

The number of European citizens who join a group called the Islamic State or ISIS in Syria and Iraq has risen to more than 3,000 people, the European Union anti-terrorism agency said the BBC.

Gilles de Kerchove also warned that the Western air strikes will increase the counter attacks in Europe.

US-led forces launched nearly 200 airstrikes against ISIS militias in Iraq since August and on Monday began targeting ISIS in Syria.

British Parliament is scheduled to hold a vote on the possibility of air strikes in Iraq on Friday (26 September).

De Kerchove said the number of 3,000 people include everyone who was already in the region, including those who have returned and died there.
